each year one of our favorite events in richmond is the watermelon festival in carytown! we always make it a point to spend a few hours walking up and down cary street, checking out all of the vendors' booths while enjoying the live music and tasty foods! we always seem to stumble upon a cool trinket and if not, we can always take pleasure in a plate of refreshing watermelon! this year's festival was just as much fun, but a little hot, so kiya had to sit this one out! accompanying avi on his venture out was my mother, monica, satish, vik and sat. in preparing for the sunny day, satish and avi model their new shades for the camera, but avi dropped the shades once he had his sites on the watermelon. don't tell avi, but the watermelon he is so intently chewing on is a foam/squeeze toy!
