the gupta's and the hoyt's met up at chesterfield berry farm to prepare for avi's first halloween! we have bought pumpkins in the past, but have never actually gone to the berry farm and hand-picked one! our day started with a hayride from the main farm to the pumpkin patch. it was a rather warm day, so the cool breeze was welcomed. after a ten minute ride, we arrived at row upon row of pumpkins, and it was quite a site! fortunately, we had del, jen and catherine to lead the way. catherine was very helpful in offering guidance to avi on what to look for and what to avoid in trying to locate that perfect pumpkin. naturally, they both gravitate towards a pumkin that was so big, that even del and i had difficulty picking it up! we closed our visit at the berry farm with some home made barbacue and cole slaw - definintely a lot of fun and something we will do annually!
