It's all about me!

It's all about me!

snow days...

i can't think of a better day than today to get back into the blogging spirit. we had about 11 inches of snow this past weekend and it was great! we told avi about the impending snow fall on friday night before he went to bed. it was almost as exciting as xmas morning; he came running into our room saturday morning exclaiming - daddy, mommy its S-N-O-W-I-N-G!  for those of you that haven't spoken with avi recently, when he gets really excited, his volume knob is on full blast...no more sleeping for daddy.

it was coming down so hard, that we decided to wait until the afternoon to go out and bare the elements. to pass the time in the morning, we finally introduced the little man to Toy Story. Buzz Lightyear and, of course, the dinosaur were his favorites.

after nap time, we headed out...spent about 2 hours outside and the culmination was this GIGANTIC snow blob that is parked right in front of our house, all constructed by avi (maybe a little assistance from dad).

sunday was even more fun!  i have to tell you, the little man is fearless...we hit some pretty steep hills for avi's first sledding adventure and he couldn't get enough.  first he went down with mom, then with dad, shortly after he was flying solo!  once we got home and looked at the pics and video clips, i was even more impressed.  there was one particular clip (enclosed below) where avi took a header into the ground, but bounced right back up. the three of us were watching it together and avi kept saying, "daddy, play the one where avi bumps his head again." here are a few pics from our fun day in the snow!

lastly, this weekend also marks a pretty big step in transitioning avi from his crib to a big-boy bed. we have finally retired the sleep sac...i know, i know, we were hoping he'd have that thing until his teenage years; but, we knew it was time. perhaps his inability to get a full leg extension in while sleeping may have been a hint. we were worried about him being more restless without the sleep sac, but quite the opposite has happened. he is fascinated with being "tucked" in! and he loves his new pj's! check 'em out...

anyhow, i have missed these little entries and have felt guilty every time i visit other family blogs. hopefully we won't have another long layover anytime soon.
